NoVirusThanks File Governor is a freeware tool that can easily unlock locked files and folders on your system.
It allows for files and folders to be unlocked so that normal file I/O operations can be completed when normally they would not be able to be due to operating system restrictions for files currently in use.
Once a file or folder is unlocked you will be able to force-close the file’s handle, rename, delete etc.
This tool is useful if you are having trouble editing or deleting a file, and get error messages from Windows saying that the file is already in use by another application.
