JPEG Repair Shop can recover some corrupted JPEG files by manipulating the internal structure of the file.
Specially, it can deal with corrupted MCUs (Minimum Coded Unit) by deleting and replacing them, therefore stopping the error propagating to the remaining image data.
For the best results you should use the original files right after they were corrupted. Using other programs to manipulate the images or uploading them to social media might result in the data being recompressed, which can make it impossible for JPEG Repair Shop to repair them.
