Namexif is a tool that can automatically rename pictures with the date they were shot, based on EXIF data.
Typically, gadgets you use to take photos will store certain EXIF data about them. Usually this includes the time and date they were taken.
This tool can rename a large number of files based on the time/date EXIF data. It has some useful customization settings for the filenames too.
