GetWindowText can grab text from active windows in Microsoft Windows.
You can use it to read out text allowed from an active window, or to copy the text to a clipboard. This is particularly useful for copying text from error messages and so forth.
It can also be used to do things like read out entire directory structures which can be useful!
NOTE: For 64-bit Windows, download GetWindowText (64-bit) instead.
