TeamViewer has put a lot of effort on security. It has encryption, Access Protection and code signature support. TeamViewer has been certified by the German "Bundesverband der IT-Sachverständigen und Gutachter e.V."( BISG e.V. , German Association of IT appraisers and assessors) with the five star quality seal.
Unfortunatly TV is only formally free, in deed it disconnects each 5 min. It is really irritating, that is why I would not recommend it to anyone. I found Ammyy Admin, which is really free,even does not require any installation.

All I can say is WOW! This is the best remote control software package I've had the pleasure of using (and I've tried almost all of them)! Installation was a snap, configuration extremely simple, and most important of all, it works! I recently tried using UltraVNC to help a friend with a computer problem in Oregon (I live in Ohio), and it was nothing short of a nightmare. I then discovered, downloaded and installed TeamViewer, called my friend and had him do the same, and within 5 minutes of him installing the software I was in his machine cleaning it up! I only used the Remote Control part of the package, but I can only imagine the other features work as well. Fast, secure, and excellent is my rating! Ed Newbold, Columbus, Ohio.
