aswMBR is a rootkit scanner provided by Avast that can find some of the more common rootkits in the wild.
For example, it can detect TDL4/3, MBRoot (Sinowal), Whistler and other rootkits.
This is just a stand-alone cleaning tool for rootkits, it is not an anti-virus solution and shouldn't be used as a substitute for 24/7 protection tools.
