ScreenBlur is a free tool that can lock and hide your Desktop, requiring a password to unlock.
The tool will lock and hide your Desktop when you choose to do so, blocking access to all areas of your Destkop. It supports auto-lock also, hot-key locking, sound muting and lets you customize the lock screen.
NOTE: on Windows XP, you will require .NET framework 2.0 or higher (64-bit version).
Also be warned that an anti-virus application might flag ScreenBlur as a potentially dangerous application, but this is a false positive.
