This freeware tool from Symantec is made to assist in the removal of the following infections from a Windows PC...

This removal tool will terminate any running process that is found to be infected. It will delete any associated files of the infections from the hard disk drive and removal anything the infection added to the registry.

You will need administrative rights to run this removal tool successfully in Windows XP. It is also suggested that you disable System Restore before running, and remember to scan again after a reboot to make sure the infection is completely gone.
